Around 3,800 guests from the worlds of medicine, politics, culture and business are invited to enjoy a glittering night at the ball while sending a powerful message of solidarity with people affected by breast cancer and their families.
At the heart of this special anniversary ball is the Pink Ribbon campaign of Cancer Aid Vienna. Like a pink thread, its message will run throughout the evening, bringing together festive tradition and genuine solidarity. Since 2017, the net proceeds of the Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball have been donated to a selected charitable organisation. At the 74^th Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball, a record donation of €136,240 was presented to CliniClowns Austria. With every ticket, every donation and every pink ribbon worn, a message will be made visible that extends far beyond this one night: breast cancer concerns us all.
 

Vienna Medical Doctors’ Ball Goes Pink

 
For this special anniversary, the Ball Committee promises a varied programme combining tradition with the present day. At midnight, Moritz Mausser will provide a musical highlight in the Grand Ballroom with his “Melodies at Midnight”. The singer and actor from Baden, known for his portrayal of Falco in the musical Rock Me Amadeus and Friedrich of Prussia in Maria Theresia – The Musical, will take the audience on a journey through the world of music, from great musical theatre hits to well-known melodies from the 1980s.
 
Once the Melodies at Midnight have faded away, another surprise awaits our guests: to mark the 75^th anniversary, a shower of balloons will transform the Grand Ballroom into a sea of pink. Those lucky enough to catch one of the balloons may also find themselves taking home a surprise prize.
 
The distinctive character of this anniversary celebration, however, will extend far beyond the Grand Ballroom. Tyrolean pop artist Sabine-Delizia Egger will add a very special artistic touch. Under the motto “Art, that makes you smile”, she will design both the Grand Staircase and this year’s ball gift. A trained neurobiologist, Delizia combines art with a unique understanding of colour compositions, harmonious designs and their effects on the human brain. Her work Magnolie will not only frame the Grand Staircase – guests will also be able to take a piece of it home with them in the form of their ball gift.
 
Those wishing to learn more about the artist and her work can meet her in person from 8.00 pm at the Delizia Art Gallery in the Small Hall. Fifty per cent of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Pink Ribbon campaign.
 

From Waltzes to Italian Flair: Music for Every Taste

 
Throughout the different rooms of the Hofburg, a wide variety of musical styles will ensure that guests can dance and celebrate until the early hours of the morning.
From 12.45 am, the After-Midnight Show by Va Bene will bring the atmosphere of an Italian Campari bar to the Metternich Hall. In the Ceremonial Hall, Mamas Soul Club and Saxophone Affair will guarantee plenty of dancing and party atmosphere, while The Thrill Seekers will serve up jazz highlights in the Knights’ Hall. In the Forum, the KUARE Salsa Band will set the mood with lively Latin American rhythms.
Those in the mood for a disco can head to the Radio Wien Disco with DJ Alex List in the Treasury Hall or enjoy Italo disco with DJ Mel Merio at Salon Campari. Dance lessons will also return to the Forum, giving ball guests an opportunity to brush up on their skills before the official opening.
 
And for those who would rather not just dance but sing along too, there will be another stage in addition to our popular karaoke bar in the Radetzky Apartments. From 1.15 am, “Sing, Dance and Shine” in the Metternich Hall will turn the dance floor and karaoke stage into one, inviting guests to sing and dance along to well-known hits.

Ball tickets can either be printed or presented on a mobile phone upon entry.
